Our roots
The Potter's House Christian Fellowship Church - Rotherhithe, London is affiliated with Christian Fellowship Ministries founded by Wayman Mitchell, senior pastor of The Potter's House Church of Prescott, Arizona. Beginning in 1973, this body (originally First Foursquare Church) has mothered an entire fellowship of churches which go by various names. These include The Door, The Potter's House, Victory Chapel, The Lighthouse, and Living Waters. The fellowship now includes more than 1,400 congregations worldwide.
Our beginnings
In December of 1973 Harold Warner and his young wife Mona were sent from the Prescott church to Tucson's south side to assume the pastorate of a nearly defunct Foursquare Mission on Veteran’s Blvd. Brother Harold and Sister Mona, saved in the Jesus People Movement, were impervious to their humble surroundings and saw only a great opportunity to impact their generation for Christ. As the Warners simply began to preach, serve and evangelize, God honored their labors by bringing in scores of hippies and young people. Since then, the Lord has graced The Door Christian Fellowship Church with several waves of revival brought about by the workings of His Holy Spirit.
Our vision
One unique facet of Christian Fellowship Ministry churches is the discipleship and training of couples within the local congregations for the purpose of planting churches. True to the same vision that launched the Warners into Tucson, The Door launched its first baby church into Clifton, Arizona in May of 1977. Today nearly 250 churches worldwide can trace their roots back to The Door Christian Fellowship Church in Tucson. In the mid-70’s The Door inaugurated a semi-annual Bible conference that caters specifically to the vision and challenges of church planting. Now celebrated annually, the early summer convention at the Tucson Civic Center is still the highlight of The Door’s lively calendar of events.
Our ministries
After 25+ years of ministry, the local congregation of nearly 300+ continues to minister to the people of Rotherhithe, London area and regions beyond. These ministries include the diligent preaching of Pastor Peter Ajala and other pastors, special church events, revival services with gifted evangelists and full-length dramas. Ministry is offered for children. Beyond the doors of the church the gospel is presented throughout the city in our Bible studies, park concerts, dramas, outdoor videos and other forms of outreach. The Potter's House Christian Fellowship Church is dedicated to winning souls as we strive to be faithful to the heavenly vision.
